  Blog Buzz

This feature provides you with the cream content from BlogStreet blogs i.e. the best of the best blogposts from Indian blogs. These posts were submitted as well as voted to be the top ones by BlogStreet users themselves, so they will give you the essence of what Indian bloggers like talking about; what Indians think is important or influential to them and what is not. Goal of Blog Buzz is to direct people to good quality content on the internet relevant in the Indian context.

How does it work

The idea behind this feature is that Indian bloggers themselves recommend what makes an interesting read and what doesn't to each other. When a BlogStreet user comes across an interesting post he/she submits it to the site. Depending upon the quality of the post, it is Buzzed (voted upon) by users and if it gets Buzzed enough number of times, it gets posted to Blog Buzz. Here is what actually happens:

  • A blogpost is submitted.

There are two ways to submit a post to BlogStreet.

    1. Directly - when you find something worthy of mention on the internet go to the Blog Buzz section and click on "Add Story" link.
    2. If a blogger has included "Buzz It!" link along with each post on their blogs you can click on "Buzz It!" to submit a new story or Buzz it. If you visit their blogs and come across posts that you think are good, click on the link to submit them.

The procedure for submitting a post remains the same in both the cases. In the "Add Story" page enter the URL of the post (permalink) and submit. In the next screen specify a title, description and category for the post.

  • It goes to the "Upcoming Stories" page in Blog Buzz.

After submission the new post goes to the "Upcoming Stories" section of Blog Buzz. This is like a waiting lounge for the new posts, waiting to get promoted to the main page or category page of Blog Buzz. The category of the post along with the number of times it has been Buzzed is also displayed along with the post. At the time of submission it has been Buzzed just once (by you).

The posts can be listed according to the category to which they belong.

  • Other users of BlogStreet buzz your post if they like it.

Eventually when the post has been buzzed enough number of times it gets posted to Blog Buzz homepage or its category page.
